    Inquiry?...First Grow

personally i've always 18/6 but i don't think there is a great deal of difference. the brown spots are generally down to nutes and/or ph. if its only on the older leaves you shouldn't worry to much. edit. just looked at the pic. are you giving them any nutes yet?

yeah i get slimy salt build up on the walls. for my dwc i clean tubs every week. i also find that if you get salt build ups that is when you get the brown spots ppl complain about. it fucks with you nutes and ph.

    Uk cheese 375w enviro grow

since we doing diff grow methods maybe we just swap cuttings in a bag of water? just an idea but i would prefer to keep soil away from hydro if you know what i mean. i think a sponge in your soil may be undesirable too.

5.5ish is for hydro and i assumed that was what you were doing. soil is different and i bow to proplayer420's advice on that. i've never done soil but have had the brown spots. i found it to be to much nutes or ph to high when those leaves were first growing. if all new growth looks good...

changing the rez also helps get rid of any dead root crap and gives the opportunity to clean any algae or other growth from the sides.
