The BGH website says that with their digital ballast you can run a smaller bulb, but of course not a larger one. The standard magnetic ballast won't do that as I understand it.

Here's a pic. There is another like this that looks the same. I'm thinking of lowering the water level but it is at the same level as the last grow and no probs then. However, I have new boss hog airstones so maybe more bubble action. I'm stumped - never seen this.
