call me lazy but just veg and flower with the hps. If you have the room its not a horrible thing, the plant will stretch a little more but that decision is up to you. Its different if you want to use 6500l cfl's or MH throughout the whole process. but i wouldn't worry about it.

yeah that 45 degree cut opens the layers of the stem that water and cloning gels will get to faster and have a quicker effect on the plant growing roots. and the bigger the clone, the more stressed it will be trying to develope roots while also trying continuing with photosynthesis.

Best time is always veg state. I usually take a cutting about two weeks before flower. but in your case if your going to keep that mother growing for cloning then just about anytime is fine.

deff. you can grow the same strain in several ways with several different results. that's the beauty of it. by looking back at all your steps during the grow process, you may find something that's worth changing or correcting the next time around.
