Yes a cold temp stress will turn some strains blue, or purple, some red. This does work, but it's stress :)

The best way would be to experiment w/ the actual buds, and not the plant as it's growing.

Randy Rocket is correct on standard MH bulbs. I don't know if that is the same as "Ceramic" bulbs.

I've also heard of this method. Some dude that didn't have a way of checking pH. He just added air lol. Might work I dunno :idea:

Considering this appears to be your first grow I'd say it looks decent. Don't expect prim-o smoke. You can certainly start flowering now. Some peeps flower straight from seed :)

Chlorine can be a good thing for the roots. Kills pathogens and what not, but too much will burn your plant :(

Ya you should be just fine w/ your tap. I would recommend letting it sit out for 24 hrs before use if possible. This gives the chlorine in the tap time to evaporate :)
