You don't need a smart pot for a plant next to a pond. The root's will dig itself towards the water anyways. So a plant near a water source or directly next partnering it is excellent results anyways.

That's a pretty bad ass dad. Anyway's they look great, slight nutrient deficiencys, as for hydro I can't help. Soil is by far the better route to go for a first timer.. & With soil you can't have bugs anyways.. and it's not dirt.. it's the foundation of our existence.. :(
