Watering the neem in will aid in running the bugs out and keeping them away... Most likely gnats, and other bugs that could be living in the medium.... I use neem on my leaves, especially the bottom sides of the leaves when dealing with mites.... I dont know about the tobbacco.... My attack...

I would just use flat white spray paint, rather than silver or chrome. Flat white is the cheapest and will give you more reflectivity than the alternatives....

I like your thinking man, neither of the 2 issues ever crossed my mind.... I think I will be hardpiping it all when I fire up the identical room to this one, everything will be straighter, and you have to imagine that a smooth round pipe moves air faster than ribbed ducting....
