ya i would imagine 42w CFL's to run pretty hot. I got 5 that are around 21w and 26w. after 12 hours of them being on, i can touch them and they are not hot at all. just a little warm.

yea but they have really cheap ones. they are pretty basic and i wouldnt advise you to get it from there. but yes they are there.

about the CFL touching the plant- a CFL of mine (somewhat cool to the touch) burned two leaves on their sides that it was touching a few days ago. it was touching them for a whole night :)

why distilled water when you can use tap?

yea they're just 1 or 2 bucks more expensive than the one u have now. I have an orange wire that takes 3 ground plugs and changes them to a 2-prong outlet so i can plug it into my 2-prong timer. the orange wire is cut at the end and continued by a vaccuum wire.

oh i forgot to answer the questions you answered initially. for fertilizer, a lot of people would use a 2-part solution- one for vegging and the other for flowering. combos can be using advanced nutrients' Iguana Juice Grow and Bloom, used along with Big Bud. Or some essential Fox Farms nutes...
