    Bizzare Plant Sickness...

Update: So, I realized that I had accidentally been using the wrong nutrient ratios, so there was just a classic nutrient defiency. As well, I used Advanced Nutrients Revive. After a couple of weeks, my plant's look MUCH better; here are some photos

    T5 Fluorescent light ?'s

I keep my T5 maybe 1/2" above canopy, and have never had problems with burning...that's not to say that it COULDN"T burn, just depends on air circulation, etc. I'm currently doing an all T-5 grow using two 48" 8-bulb Phoneix XL. It's coming along very well, check out my grow journal for more...

    Advance Nutrients

If you're looking to do organic, I would go with Botanicare...Pure Blend Pro worked VERY well for my soil grow, especially combined with Thrive Alive. However, when I'm doing hydro, I use advanced nutrients...it's honestly much harder to use organics in hydro and maintain a sterile environment.

    Advanced Nutrients Products and H2O2?

Hey everyone. Basically, I regularly use h2o2 to keep my reservoir sterile (I used to have root rot, but the h2o2 fixed the problem). It works really well, so I'd like to continue using it. But, I know that h2o2 interferes with certain organic/biological nutrients. Since I use Advanced...

    The Great T5 Adventure!!!!

Entry #17: Oo Oo, That Smell... So, today I installed my carbon filter. As you can see in the picture, I now have a 200 cfm centrifugal fan drawing air from the A/C and carbon filter. Everything seems to be working quite well. Today, I also did my weekly reservoir change. I'm thinking I'm...

    DWC/Cabinet/CFL/Iceprobe Grow

I'd recommend the iceprobe for 10-20 gallons. I've insulated my reservoir, and it doubles the effectiveness; I suggest you try it out sometime. I can't wait to see how your crop turns out!

    DWC/Cabinet/CFL/Iceprobe Grow

Also, I second the idea about starting a cab growers section; some of the most interesting designs/best buds I've seen come from closet grows...the personal attention given to the plants makes all the difference!

    DWC/Cabinet/CFL/Iceprobe Grow

Nice job with your project so far. Good work on lowering your reservoir, I did the same thing when I switched away from 5 gallon buckets. I searched long and hard before I found a really great "reservoir" from target, 36" long 16" wide, 12" deep, and it's really come in handy (holds 15 gallons...

    The Great T5 Adventure!!!!

Entry # 16 Finally... Pictures: Here are the pictures I said I'd put up. As you can see, they are doing MUCH better (even the ugly mutant runt-plant). I'm pretty sure I've finally worked all of the problems out of my setup. The unit should pretty much run itself now. Though I take readings...

    The Great T5 Adventure!!!!

Update: So my plants are doing very well! They look much healthier, and the rate of growth has increased dramatically. I no longer see any root rot; accordingly, I'm planning on stopping my daily h2o2 treatments when i perform my weekly res change, which is in 2-3 days. I think I will just...

    Which leaves do you prune?

This thread appears to be a bit old, but since it hasn't stopped anyone else... As in pretty much every other aspect of growing, how/what you prune is very relative. I personally prune the small, lower branches of my plants when they are in veg, as well as some of the small "inside" branches...

    The Great T5 Adventure!!!!

H2o2 update: So I was checking out the dutchmaster website, http://www.dutchmaster.com.au/?language=english&page=growers_guide&topic=hydrogen_peroxide , and they had some interesting stuff to say about h2o2 use. They say that the ideal way to administer h2o2 is to put it in the water you will...

    The Great T5 Adventure!!!!

Pictures! My plant's are roughly 14" tall, just for some scale. As you can see, the roots are growing really well, and the leaves are starting to return to a nice green color. It finally seems like I've worked out the major problems in my setup! (although I'm sure I just jinxed myself).

Congrats on the clone! What did you use? Gel? My buddy and I use something called Olivia's, you should check it out if you're having cloning issues.

    The Great T5 Adventure!!!!

Huh, I'd never heard this, good to know (I would + rep, but it says I need to spread things around...) ! I do have one question though: it seems like this is saying that the problem with h2o2 is if you don't use it daily, your plants will be more vulnerable once it disipates...but if you DO...

How to keep your reservoir cool

Did someone get their feelings hurt? Again, I've shown photographic proof of it working, while you've shown...oh wait, that's right, nothing at all. Where's your hard evidence buddy? Ante up, or shut up. I've seen your other posts on this site, you jump all over people that disagree with you...

How to keep your reservoir cool

P.S. Here's a quote from the user's manual which you apparently read so well: "Greater temperature differentials can be achieved by insulating the exterior surfaces of the aquarium. For example, a single Aquarium Chiller can maintain a temperature differential of over 20ºF in a fully insulated...

How to keep your reservoir cool

I promised pictures, so here they are. The labels of the picture files are in parentheses, so there's no confusion. The first picture (iceprobe setup 1) is of my cabinet, which is roughly the same size and shape as an average sized closet (6' tall, 6' wide, 3' deep). As you can see, the...
