I just use a brita faucet filter. My municipality uses chloramines, and I'm not sure if the filter gets rid of that, but either way it works fine for me and my organics. I don't do any pH adjusting either. All tap water is different though...

Hell yeah dude, I've just about reached the max amount of training I can administer in pots this size. The Apollo and Chemporer #1 are probably done after this, as I have achieved the desired number of colas for each (and will probably need to trim back a few branches as they start to bud)...

Yeah a 50# bag of play sand from the hardware store works perfect and costs around $5.00. I've used packaged beach sand, and it worked fine, but I imagine as Wolverine said there is probably excessive amounts of salt in the stuff you harvest from the beach yourself. I suppose if you could rinse...
