The filter is a diy...6" inner core and 8" overall diameter, I'm not sure how long they are though. I've got 2 of them...they use about 6 small size containers of aquarium charcoal and need to be changed every 2 months or so.

Yeah it's tough with those little cups to find the appropriate balance of fertilizer where you won't burn a seedling but still provide enough nutrients to maintain optimal health. I think I went a little soft on nutrients AND used a smaller cup than normal...2 strikes against me right there...
