The nice thing about the internet is that you can get even with poor service. A bad reputation will kill a company in todays information age. Give the owner a call and see if he will make nice. If not, go ahead and bad mouth them everywhere that anyone wants to listen.

Get one with multiple calibration points. Those are suppose to be more accurate. Otherwise, I'm not sure the name makes much difference.

Water it and measure the ph of the run off.

I'm more inclined to say it looks like a PH problem rather than a nitrogen problem. What's the PH of the water your using? I don't think it is a nitrogen problem because the leaves look green and there isn't an abundance of fan leaves. Check your ph.
