The Tautline Hitch - A very handy knot

PS I found this nice little animation for tying the knot. I should mention that though the photo shows the knot tied quite slack so that you can see the turn, it should be drawn up snug and it doesnt hurt to add a half hitch or stopper knot for security.

October's poem: The crows above the forest call; To-morrow they may form and go.

Lol. Thanks gopher. I love the way the image of the gathering crows is juxtaposed with that of the blowing leaves.

The Tautline Hitch - A very handy knot

It really is. I started taking an interest in knots a few years ago and when I did, I kicked myself for not having done so much sooner. Just knowing a few basic knots is so useful. It's surprising how many problems can be solved with just a piece of string and some well chosen knots. ( No...

Hi, I'd rather not post the info in Visitor Messages where it is open for everyone to see. Not that it's secret but RIU might object. Change your Private Message settings so that I can send you a PM with the info. I'll try again later

October's poem: The crows above the forest call; To-morrow they may form and go.

Every year at this time, I like to read this poem by Frost. O HUSHED October morning mild, Thy leaves have ripened to the fall; To-morrow’s wind, if it be wild,Should waste them all. The crows above the forest call; 5 To-morrow they may form and go. O hushed October morning mild...

Honey Oil...? butane? iso? hexane? turpentine?

If you read enough about any substance you can frighten yourself. AFAIK hexane is only dangerous in high concentrations. Between various household products and gasoline, you are routinely exposed to hexane probably at levels higher than the honey oil would contain. Hexane is water soluble and...

overlapping leaves getting damaged from pushing together

What dura said. The trapped water can indeed be a problem. I had one plant where the covered leaves would get wet during the dark hours from transpiration and then get burns from the light on the water droplets. Keep a fan blowing on it. A picture would help.

cloning: wilting once it leaves cup of water?

You probably left too much leaf material on the clone. You have to balance the leaves which transpire water, with what the root system can take up. In this case there is no root system, just the cut stem which is no more than a little drinking straw. Cut most of the leaves off the clone...

    two questions

It's not unusual for the first sets of leaves to die by this time but like gopher says, it might be nute def too. A picture is needed. Whether the plant forms a single main cola or a bush of colas is strain dependent. I've never grown NL. However, if the growing tips are producing leaves...

The Tautline Hitch - A very handy knot

I find this one of the most useful knots. It makes a loop that wont slip closed if the long end is pulled but the knot is easily slid back and forth to adjust the noose. It's ideal for cases where you need to adjust tension on an LST branch or the height of a lamp etc. After just a bit of...

Want to see a difference in nutes? Fox Farm vs. Humboldt Nutes (verde & ginormous)

That's very interesting. Thank you. But those differences could be due to variations between seeds. I don't know how stable that strain is but in general it's common to get a couple of different phenotypes. Are you thinking of repeating the experiment with clones? +rep

    60 days seed to bud?

In my experience this is typical for autoflowers. Mine all stayed very small until the stretch and then grew explosively. The White Dwarf stayed at about 2". I thought there was something wrong with her. But when she stretched, she outgrew all her closet mates very quickly BTW, I had been...

    60 days seed to bud?

Whaaa? Do you have a chicken rotisserie running in your kitchen? I just grew out some Greenomatics which were finished in 67 days. I also grew a Buddha White Dwarf auto rated 60 days seed to harvest which took 90 days. I still have an Autofem Oil in my closet that wouldnt flower until I put it...

Not to bad for a first-time grower chick!!

They look terriffic, T13. Not sure why you play the 'chick' card on this. The plants don't know the difference. 600W HPS would be awesome. A 400W mh or hps would be excellent too, cheaper and less heat to deal with. IMO stay away from fluoros for flowering.

Damn well hope so! What are you going to do in Heaven? Sing hymns for an eternity? Now in Hell they have a beer volcano and a stripper factory. See you there! To the OP: I too have no fucking idea what happened but if your life improved in some way, that's great.
