It also depends on which kind of cfls your using. The 2700k bulbs fry plants if to close but the 6500k bulbs can sit on top of them. I cooked some leaves in my day but its all good cause the plant will use half of whatever is left to still grow.

Ditch that 5000k. It's nearly useless and you won't see growth. Better get 6500k, they give up much less heat to so that would make your temps a couple degrees cooler.
