I've never used the floating platform rig, but I would guess it would be hard to keep light out of the reservoir thus you would have an algae problem. Like I said, just a guess. I'm sure someone who's actually used this method would prove me wrong. Good luck!

I would recommend getting the 50% if you can. You can get that at any hydro shop. If you can't get 50%, you can use the 3% that you can get from any drug store. You'll obviously need to use more 3% than 50%. It's not expensive.

I wouldn't. Just start over ...scrub your res. and soak your air lines with H2O2. When you refill your res., add the appropriate amount of H2O2 to the water. Make sure you don't have any light leaks. If you can, use black or dark blue air lines to prevent algae build up.

It could potentially be algae or a bacterial formation. The only thing I could suggest is scrubbing out your res. with 50% H2O2, refill with fresh water and add a little H2O2 to your res. Do your air lines look clean or are they all gunked up? I've seen problems arise with clean res's but there...

Did you have to use a lot of pH up or down in order to get to your desired pH? I know that too much pH up will foam up your water. You're using the liquid nutes from Flora, correct?

Also, what nutes? Some nutes will foam up a little the first day or so.

What's the temp of your res. water? Are your roots nice and white?
