    STAY AWAY FROM LED's!!!!!

I did not call anyone names. The only post I ever read by footclan was the one I quoted on UV. I have some professional experience in that area so I thought I would offer what I know.

    MH Lighting for seedlings

To control seedling stretch, I've had very good success using a 13W cool white (6500K) cfl bulb less than 2" above the seedling. It's a very cheap and very easy solution.

    STAY AWAY FROM LED's!!!!!

That's right. In fact not much UV gets past the glass envelope of the bulb itself.

    Supernatural...

It sounds like you are growing in soil (Otherwise you would know the term 'medium' :) ) Potting soils come with differing levels of nutrients already packaged. Some like Fox Farm Ocean Forest & Miracle grow are loaded with nutrients. Others like Black Gold have very little extra apart from...

Autoflower query...what do i do now?

Autoflowers dont need 12/12. That's the whole point of auto flower. Autoflowers typically are very small until the stretch which is the first phase of flowering. When they stretch it's an explosion. I just grew a White Dwarf that never got above 2" for a month and then suddenly took off...

    Darn seeds!!!!!??

I too like to use a small cfl for seedlings until they get a couple of sets of real leaves. I find putting a 13W cool white a couple of inches above the seedling helps to control the stretch.

Growing regular seeds next to femenized seeds

Usually it isn't a problem. The preflowers show in plenty of time to pull the males. People have been growing regular seeds for years and managed to keep their crops unfertilized

    STAY AWAY FROM LED's!!!!!

Well I find LED grow lights very interesting. IMO they have a big future and will eventually displace both HID's and CFLs as being both the cheapest and the most effective grow lights. HID's & CFL's are improving too, but there is a limit to what you can get out of that technology. Both HID...

Feedback on my first time setup

600W in your space seems like a lot. You will have trouble controling the heat. Even a 400W MH is about twice as much as you need for that. I suggest the 250W MH for the whole grow. It's cheap and if after a grow or two or three you feel you can up the wattage you can use the 250W for...

    lst during flowering?

Some growers keep taking cuttings from the same mother plant for up to 15yrs and report no deteriotion. The plant cant change it's genetics. It's genes are determined the moment a flower is ferlitized. All the pro growers use clones for their scrogs. But I think fem seeds are a good choice...

    Homegrown bud vs. Street bud

I dunno about California with all the dispensaries they have now. Perhaps the quality and selection have improved. but I've been buying weed for decades. For a while my dealer was a guy who sold to Hollywood. My dope is better than any I've bought. Not all of it. I've grown some disappointments...

    Is my friend BS'ing me?????

I've cut buds from a plant in mid flower. They were pretty potent. So were the suckers. I would imagine if you've been dry for a while it would be very satisfactory until your ship comes in. There's nothing wrong with cutting early if you need it. Just understand that every bud you take would...

    lst during flowering?

Any change in the plant or environment means that the plant has to devote time and resources to respond. But in many cases the plant responds with little effort. The MJ plants branches are designed to move and bend as they grow. The sun moves, shit falls on them, other plants push them etc...

    3 roots from seed

@Vapor: Here's a link to a post with pix in it. You can see they are half the height of their non twin sibling and a whole set of leaves behind in development. I don't know if these are real twins or twin sprouts on a single root system. I would guess the former but she's in soil already...

    3 roots from seed

Can't really see it but I will take your word for it. Why would you lie about a thing like that? I recommend you don't handle the seed and if ppl want pix...too bad. Yes it's pretty unusual. I got a twin in the seedlings I just sprouted. That happens from time to time but never heard of...

    What up Ery'body...

Welcome Hydro. I guess from your name you aren't a newbie grower. One tip: Don't use the RIU search feature. Worthless. Use google and put 'rollitup' before your search words.

    Germinating a seedling

Great thread. Should be a sticky. Germination/seedling is the most vulnerable stage. It's where people seem to lose the most plants. I killed a lot of seedlings until I developed a reliable method which turns out to be very similar to Kingrow's. +rep

little advice on sex (Pics attached)

What they said: Too young to expect preflowers. Preflowers are usually tiny when they first appear and if they were showing, you wouldn't see them in that picture. Tell us some about the plant. How old? What strain? What lighting? Soil etc.

    evening all

Hi Bio, 'Wardrobe'? You must be a Brit :). What size is your wardrobe/closet? How many watts are you going to run for your lights? I am not that knowledgeable on CFLs. I use them to veg and I make up the spectrum out of a combination of 6500K & 2700K bulbs 26W & 13W. I have never heard of...

    New to all this Autoflowering

@yusuo: You got very good advice here. I completely agree with Kingrow on the light. LED's are a developing technology right now. IMO they have a big future but we are still in the present :) HID lights ( Metal Halide & HPS ) lights are cheap and they just work. Even if you dont get it...
