Closest I ever got to a grow related fire was a shitload of singed arm hair and burnt skin from a close encounter with a 1000 watt hps. Luckily my buds didn't end up tasting like roasted Nano.
Cheap lights tend to start fires. I guess when companies pump out poorly made knockoffs of someone else's work to customers they don't care about we shouldn't be surprised when parts fail.
Both of the parents have excellent flavor, so I am hopeful that i can find a phenotype that expresses the best of both. The orkle leans towards its OG side flavor wise but with a good amount berries and earthiness from the orkle.
The other parent is hard to describe but definitely owes most...
Something I want to add. This project is special to me for several reasons. The parent of this cross that was bred by my mentor is like a beautiful time capsule of a particular point in time when Northern Lights and Skunk where king and the genetic lines where unbroken. This strain has been...
I've been growing on and off (mostly on) since '94, so a decent number of strains have crossed my path. I've done a bit of pollen chucking over the years, even got lucky a time or two, but I've never put any effort into a proper breeding program. That is about to change. Finally crossed the...
the app that you're proposing would indeed be useful. I was more referring to @Stephenj37826 talking about how they were working on employing measuring techniques that are more accurate at shorter distances than the standard far field goniometer test. If that proves to be accurate, and i have...
Why would that measurement even be useful in a light built to be able to be kept extremely close to the canopy? I'm not being snarky, I'm just not seeing the point of far field measurements when I'm running QBs at 18 inches or less from the tops of the of the plants for almost the entire...
Very true. Another reason i love QBs... i can use my Quantum Boards in damn near any situation. Too much light? Turn my drivers down a bit. Need more light spread? Space the boards out. Need side lighting? Can do that too. It's really hard to go wrong with QBs.
Same. Never been happier with a light than i am with my QBs. I currently have about twice as many QBs as i have room to use. I'm totally fine with that.
Oh i am certain that many of the growers on here can and will adopt any tech and apply any new information that will give them the best possible results. More available data is always preferable for people with an open and analytical mind. My only point was that you seemed to indicated that...
Well at this point you have yet to talk to a representative of HLG, so you don't really know what tests they do or do not run. Secondly, you stated that you are working for a competitor, so how does HLG know that you'd be impartial and acting in good faith when conducting your tests?
