HLG vs HGL Side By Side

It all seems so complicated, but really its just a few degrees of temp and a bit more RH. Been running QBs for a while now and the only issues i had were the first month or so before i figured out that just turning my extraction fan down by about 15 percent provided the neccessary climate...

HLG vs HGL Side By Side

Are we still pretending 'led deficiency' is a thing?

    HLG vs. HGL (Perm Edition)

It depends on the plant and whether I'm in veg or flower, but during flower i usually end up around 18 inches from the canopy.

    HLG vs. HGL (Perm Edition)

This is definitely and understatement. I run 2 QB 288 v2 @ around 220 watts during flower and it crushes my 2x3. I'd need that extra foot of width to even be able to use the 260 watts i have available. Nice job on the side by side so far. :peace:

Anyone have experience with these LED lights?

The components tend to run cooler on the HLG boards because they are higher quality. More efficient, less resistance, that sort of thing.

    Familiar with these lights??

There is a whole sub-section of this forum dedicated to florescent/cfl growing at the very top of the Indoor Growing section you posted this in. I'd check that out for info about those lights and how best to use them. Good luck.

    Why LEDs?

The amount of crazy going on in this thread has reached critical mass. :o:peace:

Anyone have experience with these LED lights?

I'd imagine it would be fine. Most of the chinese knockoffs run hotter than HLGs, but most don't run dangerously hot. Just make sure you are a little extra careful with those lights in general. Knockoffs are knockoffs for a reason and there is a reason they are cheaper. Just be safe.

New here guys. These looking any good?

A bit hard to judge plant health under HPS lighting, but from what i can tell they look great. Any pics under normal lighting you could share?

    New to led

You could use them for veg lights. The old blurples seem to do that fairly well at least. They are not going to be better than your HPS though.

Anyone have experience with these LED lights?

They run hotter than the real deal, but they do the job. I'll stick with HLG personally because i like supporting company's that innovate and care about their customers, but like I said, if you can't afford HLG these will grow some plants.

    Grow light spacing.

If you are going to go with LED, HLG Quantum Boards (and all the HLG products actually) are top notch. Excellent build quality, super high efficiency components, and most importantly, results. I'm 6 runs deep with my HLG lights and i could not be happier. @Stephenj37826 and @robincnn have...

    Why LEDs?

So what are we thinking here, gentlemen? Russian troll bot? Cranky old stoner who doesn't understand the internet? Lonely soul who deep down just needs a hug? Seems like a distinct trend lately of arrogant know-it-alls appearing among us, shouting a bunch of nonsense about tech they don't...

Setting correct light distance using LUX meter?

Even the eyeball test should kind of let you know if you are getting what you should out of those diodes. Any of the high efficiency diodes like the lm301b or the lm560c being run anywhere near full power should be blindingly bright. I've seen many examples of people being super disappointed...

Let's see pics of pure sativa

This is fascinating to me.. I am the exact opposite. All the long flowering landrace sativa I've grown/smoked has given me the screaming heebie jeebies. Pure indica and indica dominant and I'm chilly chill.

Best purple strain and where to git it?

Just picked some of these up... i'd love to pick your brain on how your experience with it went.

Remove some fan leaves on auto?

Other than the really crispy ones i don't see a single leaf on any of those that there is any reason to cut. Get rid if the ones that were fried if you want and leave the rest alone.

HLG vs HGL Side By Side

I dunno, not having to cool my grow quite as much doesn't seem like any actual work to me. To each their own.

HLG vs HGL Side By Side

I personally found my SS 440 more similar to growing under HPS that my HLG QBs. I didn't really have to change much when i switched from hps to the 440 because they both run kind of hot so heat exchange was similar, the plants seem to react similarly as well. The QBs took a bit more dialing...
