DWC Root Slime Cure aka How to Breed Beneficial Microbes

Photo isn't very clear. What makes you think the roots are dead? I'd leave them alone.

DWC Root Slime Cure aka How to Breed Beneficial Microbes

If roots are dead and decomposing, definately remove them. You don't want decomposing stuff in there. However, if they are still firm when giently pulled, I'd leave them for a while and see if they recover. Branches I wouldn't touch unless the plant is wilting (spending more water then it can...

DWC Root Slime Cure aka How to Breed Beneficial Microbes

That goo is a mix of microorganisms and their excretions. It's a good sign that microorganisms are alive and feeding nicely. I brew without the sock, so in my brew slime and ewc particles form a mass I filter out, but I think you'd be perfectly fine dumping it all in. I never brewed for more...

DWC Root Slime Cure aka How to Breed Beneficial Microbes

Yep, that goo, (called biofilm here) is perfectly normal. It is, just like the foam, a sign of good biological activity. Why 60 hours? 48 should be enough.

To top up or not to top up, that is the question...

So my girls drink more then a litre a day, but they also feed heavily. My EC goes form 1,1mS on the day of res change to perhaps 0,8mS a day later, but then stays about the same as drinking rate and rate of nute intake reach a balance. This week I let it drink like that untill about half of the...

DWC Root Slime Cure aka How to Breed Beneficial Microbes

You can brew with just EWC and if possible some product containing bacteria. Then you take a cup of that tea, put some ZHO in it and pour on the roots. That way most funghi will come into contact with roots.

Carbohydrates are by definition organic molecules. You can't have non roganic carbo.

Scroga, are you sure you couldn't try geting some mycos from abroad and act suprised if they actually searched your package and found them? They probably open every 1 in 1000 letters...

DWC Root Slime Cure aka How to Breed Beneficial Microbes

From what I understood, some of the mycos need roots close by when they develop, so when brewing they will either remain dormant, hatch and die or get eaten by other organisms. Therefore, it's best to add mycos at the end. I'm using great white, but because of that I also mix in ZHO just before...

So its basically a submersible pump with a ventouri tube?

I put quarter (or a bit less) of a spoon of great white, handfull of EWC, 6,5 g of sugar and 2,5L of water and brew at 23-25 C for 24 hours. I take half a cup of the tea, mix in half a teaspoon of ZHO and pour that directly on the roots.

    Organic Nutrients

Yes, for DWC type grows where roots are directly submerged in water organics are generaly known as a bad idea.

Rubber and plastic gets more elastic on higher temps. Try heating it a bit with warm water.

My First Grow. Is this too much water?

I had my seedlings nearly killed by damp rockwool in a similar kind of setup. My advice, ditch the RW altogether, maybe leave a little piece just to hold the seedling untill it can hold on on its own, and let the roots develop straightint clay pebbles. If you cover the net pot with a plastic...

    Bubble System:(:(

I think its OK to ask questions, fuck it, we don't all have access to books, but to ask a question you have to let people know what exactly you are doing, not jump to the question why are my roots not growing without providing any info about your system.

I'm not sure. In my case it meant just that, but I think I have seen some people report having no foam but a good brew. Do you get slimy biofilm on your airstones? What temp are you brewing at?

Bennies multiply fast in brewing res because there is sugar disolved so they can eat as much as they need to. If you added them straight into the res, they would probably just starve.

DWC - Going away for 12 days. Rez is 2 gallons. Small plant in veg. Will it survive?

Look, my plants are in veg vor 2 months and they can drink 2,5 L a day. The bigger you can get your rez the better. And whatever you do, the plants are going to be stressed. I would not risk puting them to flower mode at this moment as they would be great hermie candidates.
