People lie on these forums every day. If you yeilded 8 oz off of 60 watts (I'll let you count the shake for this because I'm a swell guy) then you pulled very close to 4 grams per watt. You realize that there are people on here (myself included) who have been growing for 20 plus years that...
Great yield? So you have 5 of those lights... 15 actual watts each for a total of 75 watts. So under those 75 watts what was the total dry weight of that harvest?
That i will agree with 100%. The basics HAVE to come first... the amount of people who have never even tried to keep a fern alive that buy 4x8 tents and 2000 watts of lighting is astounding.
Lol! All that money? I pulled damn near 6 zips of great weed off of one plant under my 135 watt hlg kit that cost me less than $200. Where is all this wasted money? Come on man, i like you but you really seem to have an axe to grind here.
Don't need to. I figured out very quickly that if i keep my ambient room temp higher the plants are happy as fuck. The lack of IR in led just means that there is less of a gradient between leaf temp and ambient temp and i have to worry less about keeping my space cool. I just mount my drivers...
As i said... far reds and deep reds are cheap and easy to suppliment, (HLG is actually including deep reds on the QB 96 Elite). UV is a bit more expensive to suppliment, but you don't need that until flowering anyway, and i prefer not getting blasted by a bunch of UV when I'm training/taking...
Again, the CMH is an outstanding light. But i don't think you'd need to add 40+ watts of far red to a 260 kit to get a similar spectrum to the 315. Plus, at 1.6 μmoles/joule the 315 CMH is much less efficient than a QB 288 v2 which hits 2.5 μmoles/joule even when being run hard.
Again, CMH...
I don't use tap water because the area i live in uses chloromine instead of regular chlorine and you can't get rid of that shit by just letting it sit out like you can with chlorine. Also, even if you ignore the chloromine, my tap water is nasty.
I personally use RO and a bit mineral addative...
To be fair, CMH has excellent spectrum. However, most of what CMH has that the QBs don't is easy and cheap to suppliment, and even without doing that it is fully capable of growing outstanding cannabis.
I get that exact type of leaf curl when my RH gets too low as @vostok said. Has to do with tranpiration. What is the average humidity inside your grow space?
Getting your temps up a little would probably help. LED doesn't put out much of any IR and many of us who've been using LED for a while now have found that something right around 80f is ideal for a lights on temp.
Besides that i second what has already been said... not enough light for a...
