I may be able to get away with that. My only concern would be in the winter time when I've got <20 F and the light is off. Plywood probably isn't going to isolate that window.

How do you go about venting hot air outside without letting anyone who glances over notice? Some sort of window fitting with insulation board? The best thing I could think of would be to exhaust into the return air vent at the top of the room.

Except that if you read the hortilux they say right on the bulb that they are started at the factory to ensure working bulbs. I would rather have my bulb pre started than receive a dud.

My fan is 8 inches 400 cfm. My issue being, that its just a fan out at the top of my room, its hanging out of the return air duct with a square duct to 8 inch circular adapter. My hood is open so theres nothing directing the hot air there, its just exhausting the hot air out of the top of the room.
