yes you can benefit from it..i know some breeders that make fem seeds use root pruning in flower to manipulate the plants hormones to produce male pollen sacs...but I haven't heard of anyone pruning roots over being rootbound....all indoor plants get root bound imo..onless your growing 1 R 2 big...

Hydro can very unforgiving if things start to go wrong...especially on your first grow...learn to grow in soil...and then give hydro a shot...soil is very easy to grow in ..and is very forgiving...and a lot better taste and aroma in the finished product...happy growing
