Ok when you first start put 1000w lights about 3 feet away and then when they get there 2nd and 3rd set of leaves I would put it as close as you can without burn which would probly be like 18 inches away but thats only if its a vented light if not DONT TAKE ANY OF MY ADVICE CAUSE THEY MAY BURN
