Just as an update, I soaked my seeds for roughly 8 hours (not long enough I'm sure) and dropped them in some soil I'll check it every few days in hopes of a sprout, plus watering.

Leave them in the shot glass for 3 days? That seems like a long time to drown my seeds. I paid more than I really wanted to, so I would like to at least get a few sprouts.

About to leave for work, but I dropped my beans in a small glass of water. I'll check them when I get home from work. If they're cracked they're going straight into my jiffy pots. It's getting it to, and past the seedling stage that scares me, once that's done, I've got the rest under control...
