The Chinese Quantum Board Knock Off Builds

Consider the cree reds look at the spectrum spike on the graphs. I think I am going 3500 K as oppose to 3000k for the lm301h( preferance re node space/ height requirement and partly veg light). Just sorting out IR or UV added. My friend says he wears glasses now so perhaps a small spike in UV...

The Chinese Quantum Board Knock Off Builds

@Marla 420 good eye.. Those are the same diodes apparently. So you can save 12 $ for a lm301b vs lm301h.. Sounds like a good choice. Myself I am leaning toward the cree 660nm but am struggling on whether to bother with the added IR, UV. THere was a test run with THC/Terp etc numbers showing...

The Chinese Quantum Board Knock Off Builds

Good to here BM, this was my thoughts. If UV or FR is desired just buy the boards separately. Put them on a separate channel/timer. No switch or extra diodes, no problems associated in the future I suppose.... My feeling the UV is bad for your eyes and skin and if you hang out in the grow room...

The Chinese Quantum Board Knock Off Builds

I sometimes think more isn't always better. But it sounds pretty dope if all that spectrum was done well. Its tempting going for the added FR and UV. As I mentioned these are for a friend so it would be nice is this was solid board. I would want problems. It would be great to know how they wired...

The Chinese Quantum Board Knock Off Builds

After navigating their site I see the picture better. Yes there are several configurations i see. I will think about ordering the kits or just building. Nice they have the boards and heatsinks too that can be ordered seperatly. I have always liked single heatsinks with angled aluminum. It allows...

The Chinese Quantum Board Knock Off Builds

Yes I am seeing that there is quite a difference in price between Epistar vs Cree xpe2. So is the increased price worth it. I would know that.. Is the red of the cree stronger penetrates better than epistar? More efficient ? Anyone know this one? suppose some research. As well having the V4...

The Chinese Quantum Board Knock Off Builds

Thanks @Oldskoolsmoker My thoughts were the less on board chips the less to go wrong. As well the other chips FR, UV could be robbing some of the power?? I understand that in the right combo the FR causes the Emerson effect but too much can cause shade avoidance. THis has always made me...

The Chinese Quantum Board Knock Off Builds

hey first time post on this thread and I have read as far back as Feb 1. I am looking for 10 240 kits or 20 boards to DIY for a buddy. I already have HLG gear ( and read almost that entire thread ) but theres no love and they just increased the shipping to Canada to 75 usd to help protect...

    Greenpoint seeds!!

Yes these were from seed. I do have clones so if I would rin them again I would likely see balls it sounds like.. Did the pollen create a full healthy seed? or was it those dreaded little white premature? I had a poor showing on some cakenchem seeds (some poor quality ) and purple crunch was...

    DIY with Quantum Boards

Its up to your imagination.. Thats why these boards are great. I would think most would make a square with 4 boards spacing apart 2 -4" or a rectangle with 4 boards. Depending on your footprint. Would flower a 2x4 I presume. Angled aluminum holds together. Many examples on previous post. Your in...

    DIY with Quantum Boards

For anyone running a low ceiling height consider the qb 120 or qb132 in 4000k. No need for a heatsink and 4000 K should help keep plants more compact. I have 4 QB120 4000k on a 240 watt for veg. Its like a HLG 550 Lite. Happy St Patricks Day..

    Pacific seedbank?

Thanks for sharing. I wouldn't trust.. However it is not uncommon for a shipping label not to go live right away. it is possible they created it and still awaiting to be dropped off or picked up. Go check out Ethos, Inhouse genitics, Dungeon Vault. THis is the next for me.

    Greenpoint seeds!!

2 packs of bisonbreath 22 seeds got 10 females 12 males. So that would be pretty accurate. THe cake n chem seeds weren't of best quality but manage to pop 8 out of 11. Probably 1/2 looked a little sketched. Tomahawk 12/12 Bridezilla 6/6

    DIY with Quantum Boards

@Barristan Whitebeard I am pretty sure "parallel wiring is more prone to thermal runaway. According to Stephen at HLG to prevent thermal runaway you use you "Voltage" V pot ( constant Voltage driver ) and turn it down a tad until you see the light begin to dim. Then you use the IO pot to...

    Greenpoint seeds!!

I saw those pics. nice.. I was contemplating dropping the Bridezilla and some Cake n Chem together. Perhaps do a little pollination of the 2. Hows the stretch on those "Cake N Chems"? The reason I ask, is the Bison Breath ( back a page ) really stretched. I wished I topped early but didn't. 6...

    DIY with Quantum Boards

HLG 185H 54A or B is recommended. Yes you can do a 240H 54A but the lights may need a fan on the heatsink depending on wattage. Invertronics is another supplier of quality drivers but they will cost you as well. Others on this thread pulled up those same drivers and the consensus was "no". I...

    DIY with Quantum Boards

Why not use single heatsinks with angled aluminum. Lighter. Otherwise a solid piece would probably work. @Chronikool built some fixtures with a solid piece ( nice fixtures.. ). I thought I saw them not too long ago on this thread. You have a lot of options with quantum boards these days.
