    DIY with Quantum Boards

If you have single boards/heatsinks you can customize spacing accordingly on angle aluminum. This would work best for that footprint. i would think you could do 4 rows of 3 boards per on hlg 320h 54. Those QB96e look inviting for the price. about 1200+usd buys you a 12 light beast.

First the UVA strip at 99$ now a bar with glass cover 149$. Will there be a next gen. Thinking this UV bar was outsourced. Would that be a good assumption? I think I will still wait and see whats around the corner. I would rather not have to use a UV tube. I kinda liked those unprotected strips...

nice.. it seems 300 + watts on paper is where you want to be in a 3x3 for flower. I understand these boards can run 75 watts. Probably more. How hard to you push with that driver? Do the boards ever get hot? If I were to use the 240 c2100 I estimate around 260 watts would be 28.89 watts per sq...

THose 120/132 boards are great value for the money. Its true you would need more of them as seen on other builds. They are really good for cupboard grows or close quarters. I also think a very good light for veg( 4000k ). I believe i saw someone with like 12 of these in a 4x4. I have 4 qb120 in...

    DIY with Quantum Boards

I just calculated the volts x amps under load and did not account for the driver loss and wire loss( 10' solid 18 gauge ). When I received the 185 drivers the VO pot was turned down significant enough that the qb96 didn't seem that bright. I maxed that out and big difference in brightness. I...

@2com base of qb96e v2 is 4000k. Nice blue spike.. I am using the 96e's on veg opposed to the qb288's. As well with a sunblaster 24" veg tube (plants are young).

@2com @pop22 Pull out the old multi meter and indeed the DC watts to the boards would be lower. About 30 watts lower on average. Measured 259. watts on the 240 c2100 and 228-229 watts for the 185 54a. I am not sure i am calculating the 185 correctly ( parallel ). I am pretty much doing it the...

https://forum.grasscity.com/threads/hlg-uva-boards-out-opinions.1541879/ @2com They were 99 at hlg I think. I wonder if the board only will be back.. Looks like the new solution is with a built in driver. I also think it may have a glass cover, being waterproof. Apparently only special glass...

    UV Suppliment Lighting

I have been hoping someone would chime in on experience with the HLG UVA. Surely someone has completed a run with the previous version. By the time I land 2 of these in Canada your pushing $500 cdn. I can't afford to chuck money away unless proven. THe fact no one was in awe of these already...

I have too latly with those 54 volt drivers. One thought was each loop length to a light should probabley be the same length, if mounting drivers remotely. My thinking is you want to same voltage drop to each light. If 1 wire was 10 feet and another 15, could that start thermal runnaway ( my...

I was thinking of order just 1. However I suppose I could use my multimeter. I rechecked the different my drivers on that AC meter and showing as follows. 1 185h 54a powering 2 QB96e pot maxed was255 watts 120.6 volts 2.11 amps 1 185h 54a powering 2 QB288 v1 pot maxed was 256 watts 120.4 volts...

I posted this a few pages back and have since added FR to the 96e fixture. The 260 diy kit at each end is shown in last pic ( can't see the once above camera ). I have since replaced that center board with Rspec and added 2 qb96e as seen. Since I am using 1 driver per 2 boards now ( except...

THe watt measurement is a meter you plug into the AC outlet and measures from the 120 v draw of the driver, which shows quite high. Most are measuring on the DC side which should be lower I believe. I will invest in a DC meter so i can measure that side of the current. Has anyone else measured...

"HLG-320H-54 with 2 or more boards for 320 Watts" ( From HLG Website on QB288 ). I was told when I bought my V1's to use 240h c2100 in series. I am mixing V1 qb288 and qb96e and too was wondering about watts and ppfd and the difference.. I was doing 160-170 w ( on 185a driver per ) at wall on...

Order all singles. THis way you can space everything accordingly. If you change footprint you can rework the design. I like 3 boards in a row x 2. lean into and out of the canopy. THis would be similiar to that triple fixture I have. Rspec in the middle and 3000-4000 k on the ends ( depending...
