I've gone with the hlg-320w-ab version. Was lucky enough to get the last 2 on TME. I also got the 480w ab version of the HLG. My advice is make price on things like drivers your lowest priority. Get what you need and ignore the difference, because on the build it will mean nothing. Haven't...

    Guide me to the Light....

Yep, that's where I'm getting it :hump: About my driver question up there. Will I be ok with a 36V AB driver which goes up to 39V for my 38v strips? Or is that not advisable?

@Rocket Soul @grotbags Cool... so these are my dimensions for U-channel... 1" wide x 1/2" tall 3mm thick Good? Or is 1/16" (1.5mm) enough for the Blux strips?

Nice one man that helps a lot. Those are the clearest pictures I've seen. Gives me a good idea of the thickness of the strips and the 3mm looks plenty sturdy enough. Back to the drivers a minute... Could I use a HLG-320H-36AB for my 38V strips? It goes to 39V... that's a 0.9V overhead Is that...

Nice mate. How thick is that Alu strip you're using? Easy to countersink?

I'll have a look at that before I get building Easier to fix into my plan than an angle frame you reckon?

Oh, forgot to ask What size angle for the frame? I'm thinking 1/16th thick & 1 inch wide for the strips But what about the frame? And angle vs u channel. Does it matter? Cheers

Good point mate. Not sure how I'd overcome that or even where the most intense spots would be. But I could put some strips tighter towards the edges and even it out a bit

Ok brothers so I need a bit of experiential wisdom here for the design.. You'll know from your build where to leave little gaps and overlaps and stuff... so with that in mind let me run this past you.. I'll break it down into two bits -width and spacing, and length and overlaps - so we can...

    Guide me to the Light....

Right, update time.. I've just ordered 3 drivers. Took @Rocket Soul and some other people's advice and decided to go with some more manageable sized fixtures instead of the big 1.2m2 designs I had in mind. But instead of 4 x 240w fittings I've gone for 2 x 320s and one 480 Compromise So...

I can't get it on amazon until 27th of June earliest )from china). That's why I was asking about the 22AWG, because the one they had available on prime. I'll pay the extra few quid. Far as the actual aluminium frame, any links to some good builds? Watched a few Greengenes vids and had a look...

Open question to everyone. Can I use 22AWG wire for these builds or is that too big? What's the best to use for this thing? Cheers

    Guide me to the Light....

Was talking about the 4 footers. But I could run the 2's at 22w on 2mm as well? That's interesting. I've never worked with it before though. How rigid is it? I mean will I need another lateral piece to support the middle of the 4 foot piece? Will it bend otherwise? Cheers
