I usually use the same method as you posted. However, this is going to be my first hydroponic grow so i just put the seed in the rockwool in a dark warm place. I kept the rockwool damp not wet. It popped out of the wool in 4 days it may have came out of the seed earlier and I just couldnt see it.

Finally got tired of growing crappy bagseed and ordered 8 fem seeds from Attitude. After 13 nervous days they came in as advertised. Only tried to germ 1 so far but it popped out in about 4 days.

That Alaska 5-1-1 works well for me even though it smells god awful. However, the Alaska Morbloom 0-10-10 almost killed my plants.

Well looks good for your 1st grow. It is amazing how fast a simple grow to save some money turns into a new found hobby about plants in general. My 1st grow provided 3 males out of 3 plants, I am 1 week in my second grow. I hope that you have better luck then I did in getting a female.
