thanks again brother for your advice. i have a 5000k 150 watt cfl, a 250 watt HPS (and two 400 watt MH/HPS lights.) i was thinking i'd start all the seedlings under the 150 watt cfl.

Do you just pop the seed in the 1/4" hole and lightly cover it with soil? Do you do anything detailed like pointing the seed a certain direction like pointy side down? How about light during the seedling pop stage? Lots of lumins 24/7 or something else? Thanks for your input!

So brother you just plant them in the solo cup and wait for the cup to get root bound and then directly transfer to a bigger container? When you pop the seed in the solo cup do you cover it somehow? Believe it or not I've never tried that! I've always done the porous pot in perlite thing. My...

thanks! some people say just use tap water since it has minerals. some people insist on distilled. i don't know how much it matters. i've used RO water in the past and it worked fine.

yes, i've used them a lot. i've tried the peat mesh things, i've tried the "cow pots," i've tried some sort of coco fiber pot, and i've tried just dumping the seeds right into large containers. the jiffy pots work the best so far, but i wish i could find a better alternative. what i usually do...

Here's the big tent I've done all my other grows in. It's a XL Homebox, 6x4x4 I think. It's really a piece of junk. I'd never buy another Homebox. The stitching and zippers started to come off right away and it's held together with duct tape but it works.

i recently go this on amazon of all places for a hundred bucks free shipping. it's about 5 tall x 2.5 x 2.5. a nice sized little tent of good quality, great venting options, for a great price. i'm going to veg in this and flower in my larger tent. at least that's the plan.

Hope this isn't too boring! I fill these peat pots with seedling mix, put in a clear plastic container with a clear lid and bury them deep in perlite. I like the big and chunky perlite the best but it's hard to find and comes in huge bags. Now I wait for the seeds to sink.

It worked! So those are the seeds dropped directly into plain old grocery store distilled water. I will leave them 24 hours, stir and hope they sink.

Hi All, It's been quite a while since I've done a grow and thought I'd do a start to finish thread. Not sure if this should be over in the grow journal area, or the noob area, but this is where I posted my last grow. So this is a seed/soil grow. I got my seeds at The Attitude just a few weeks...

it worked. i double freezer bagged it and threw it in hot tap water for an hour. had to pry it apart, i won't use coins again, but it's nice and dense. :blsmoke:

here's the garlic press. ha ha ha.. this thing is plastic and has a much larger bore diameter than the previous clay extruder. the plunger seems to be flexible plastic and i wish it was more rigid. perhaps i can find a metal bolt with the same thread profile. since this is plastic i'm not sure...
