Thanks again everybody. I done a few grows but I'm still basically a noob and make a lot of mistakes. I have the room for the 5 gal containers. I'll do it real soon. I didn't realize transplanting as soon as possible was the way to go. Is it possible to just skip the solo cup thing all-together...

Thanks everybody for all your suggestions! The big ones are 4 weeks old. They seemed to get off to a slow start but have really taken off in the last 10 days or so. The clear cups were a bit of an experiment since the peat pots wouldn't fit in the red solo cups I have. Not sure if I'll do the...

I think I saved my sour cream after flipping it over and reburying it! i thought for sure it was dead. this little liberty haze had it's seed pod stuck. i took a tweezer and gently crushed the pod and removed it. that was tricky! hopefully it will open up now. vortex doing good!

added the CFLs on the right. that's about 300 watts of CFL total. not necessary, i know, but i just can't stop messing with things. added the little 4" fan just to move the air around in the tent with the added lights. you can't tell in the picture but i poked a couple of holes in the votex' lid...

thank you! there's nothing to wilt really. there's a fat little tap root but the seed pod has barely opened. i just hate dead babies. oh well, this seed was an attitude freebie and it will make me determined to get some DNA sour cream seeds and do it right!

so all of my seeds have germinated and are above ground in some sort of state but the WW's are not. so like a stoner i dug the WW seeds out and both have just split and i can barely see the root coming out. perhaps these take a long time to open up? anyway, i put them both back in root down and...

the babies are still coming up. no white widow so far! my dna sour cream totally flipped herself over and the taproot was sticking up so i had to do emergency surgery and turn her over and bury the root. no time for pictures of the operation! my new tent has a handy side window, good for taking...

Day 4. One vigorous vortex baby in solo cup pops up! :cool:

check it out. the clear cups fit nice and snug over the red cups.

put the babies on the heat mat under the light. 150 watt 5000k CFL. got the timer set for 18/6. i don't think the light is too close, at least i hope not.

All the seeds sunk overnight. I just planted them all roughly 1/4" deep in the well moistened seedling mix. I have an RO system so I'll use filtered water for the rest of the grow. I'll place them on the seedling heat mat tonight and put the 150 watt CFL over them. So far so good!

then 18/6 it is!

24 hours or 18/6? I've always done 18/6 just because i thought a plant needs a dark cycle and it gives the lights and power a break. What do you think?
