    Low-tech CFL Grow

Got the two beans that popped into the pots. Still no sign of the other four splitting yet, but it's barely been 40 hours since I started germinating.

    Low-tech CFL Grow

Just scored two free fixtures with working T-10 bulbs from a neighbor that is replacing his shop lights. These should be ideal for additional side lighting.

    Low-tech CFL Grow

I will add more lights when my funds allow. The big 125 watt cfl should get them through the first few weeks of veg well enough :)

    Low-tech CFL Grow

Less than 24 hours and one of the beans has split alittle! I can just barely see the tiny white root through the gap in the shell...I will let the root come out about 1/8" before planting in soil.

No Idea What Strain I Smoked...Some Advice Perhaps?

I got a super cheap bag of buds ($60 for 1/2 oz). The stuff was super dark green with very few pistils or trichs and had a very earthy smell prior to smoking...it was also kinda "bricky" which leads me to believe that it came from Mexico. The taste while smoking was an unbelievable cross between...

    Low-tech CFL Grow

Just thought of something. Since I am doing 8" diameter pots and plan on having 4 females at most, the square footage is only 1.8 feet if the pots are touching giving me almost 70 watts per square foot if the plants are directly under the big 125 watt cfl. My first successful grow was...

    Low-tech CFL Grow

On a good note, my grow area now has 5 feet of vertical grow space which should be ideal for a few 4 foot flouro tubes in the corners.

    Low-tech CFL Grow

Here's the six fat beans. I wish I could've went with my original idea setup but I will have to make do. Going fully organic with my nutes and soil is gonna be the fun part. Any ideas on how long a mix of 50% potting soil plus 50% compost will feed a plant before I have to add more nutes?

    CFL GROW........Night 7 of 12/12....

Balls with white hairs are girls...balls with no hairs are male and you should never wait more than a few days to get them out before the open and spread pollen.

    Low-tech CFL Grow

Finally gonna start but some major changes in the setup due to cost. Just gonna use the big 125 watt CFL for now and have a 2 foot by 2 foot space in my closet cleared out. I just put 6 beans in some damp paper towels and keeping them warm over my computer tower untill they germinate. I know I...

Blue Mystic 400w attic grow FIRST JOURNAL EVAaaaaaRh!!!!!!!!!!!!

Under that lighting they should be quite a bit bigger, even if you used cfl's to start with. What are the temps reading in your grow space?

    Help needed on increasing yield.

I agree. Even at .5 grams per watt (a doable number) 600 watts should produce a little over 10 oz with HID lighting. You could scale your grow way back if all you want is 3 oz per harvest.

    Low-tech CFL Grow

I am also making my cab a little smaller at 12"x24"x36" so I will be getting about 85 watts per square foot. I'd really like to put 18" flouro tubes vertically on each corner pointed towards the middle, but I haven't found cheap enough fixtures.

Purple Urkle - Looking For 1 Gram Per Watt

Excellent manicure job on those buds! I want to try that strain once I get my bagseed grow done first.

    Low-tech CFL Grow

Here's my lighting, I will probably add 2-23 watt cfl's at the end of the hood since there is so much space.
