Parallel or Series - second guessing myself now!

Ah, that's where I went wrong... wrong data sheet. These cobs are 48 - 55 forward voltage. parallel... voltage is constant, current is additive, max current is 2200 for these cobs. Max current on the driver is 3900, so it can't blow them in parallel, but it's running them pretty hard.

Parallel or Series - second guessing myself now!

I bought 2 CXM-22's and an HLG-185H-48A from cobkits. I should be wiring these in parallel or series? I'm second guessing myself now. driver has forward voltage of 43-53 Cobs need 33.5 min and max 37.5 Cobs current is 1280 - 2560 mA Driver can adjust from 1950 - 3900 mA So I want to...

Pests in my area to worry about?

Canada, Northern Ontario. For an indoor grow, do we need to worry about pests that much? Or is this always a problem, no matter where you live? Obviously, if I'm growing mid winter I shouldn't have to worry about much, but summer into fall??

    Hinge ideas?

I am going to put some 1x2 on the back that will sit inside the door frame. That should give me enough meat for a euro hinge. I am going to half the door too. I only need it fully open when adjusting the light height or doing major pruning. This should make those euro hinges work fine. Thanks...

    Hinge ideas?

Only way that would work is connected to the outside. I am trying to find something to go on the inside if possible. Sorry I should have said that in the OP

Soil growing seeing mold on soil

Ya it is compressed peat. This was just for basil and strawberries. I am almost set up for my grow but I figured I would learn on something less important :P

Soil growing seeing mold on soil

I actually grabbed one of the pots and walked into one of our nurseries and asked. It is fungus due to humidity/air flow/over watering. As someone stated earlier I will be watering less and adding some air circulation to lower the humidity. Thanks everyone

Soil growing seeing mold on soil

I am just growing basil and strawberry plants right now while I build my room. The space these are growing in right now is a bay window sill that doesn't open. Is this cheap soil, over watering? No air movement? Something else? It is white surface mold on the top of the soil and outside of...

DIY Scrubber - check my math

So, 13 lbs is about right. If I was using smaller granulated carbon, it would be about 13 lbs. I'm using pellets, and it takes about 9-10 lbs.

Quick little DIY video of my Carbon filter

CAD for the DIY and USD for the linked setup. Good luck finding a supplier in Canada for anything under $200. If you are close to the border you could buy that iPower setup and ship to a border store but add 30% conversion and minimum 8% tax. Not only that but the DIY is ready to swap carbon...

Quick little DIY video of my Carbon filter

Check it out. Cost me about $30 at Home Depot, $10 at another hardware store(prefilter) and $15 on Amazon for the carbon. Pretty simple, and seems like it's going to do the trick.

If you only had $150 for a single plant grow light what would you do?

You can't go wrong with either of those... Grow space size determines the min and maxes... there are tons of options within that which vary in pricing and availability... Hence my original reason for asking my question. Single plant in a 2x3x8 space and under $150... Only thing that fits...

Pairing drivers to cobs and understanding parallel and series for DIY

Just want to make sure I'm understanding. An LED needs a certain forward voltage and current to actually light up. You can connect an LED to others, in series, or parallel. Series is a single path, LED voltage is added, current is static Parallel has multiple paths, LED voltage is static...

Why are these not a thing?

I have other uses for them so I am going to buy a pack of 10. I can only guess that the claims vs price has those efficiency testers going "pfff ya right" and they don't want to waste there time. Or the technical details give enough info to rule them out. I don't have a good grasp of either...

Why are these not a thing?

Just curious as to why these aren't a thing? Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/322314519577 No driver, straight to wall. Besides ensuring the draw doesn't burn out your cable you could build a panel by sticking as many as you want to a big slap of aluminum... done. I am sure...
