And finally....this is their parent company (in case you needed any more proof of how they've repurposed a general purpose lamp): http://www.brightlightled.net/#x The prosecution rests.

Oh and PPPPPPPPPPPS they spend an age telling you some "LED/State Secrets" and being the nice guy in the process......then sell a grow lamp using LUX as a viable metric. LUX is a "referential" metric at best, in that, the higher the LUX the higher the likely PAR of the lamp.....but really...

PPS - apologies for the potentially "ranting" nature of my answer......but having seen the sheer volume of goodwill and knowledge spread throughout these DIY threads, watching some pseudo hippy pr*ck tout his wares "like he's just the most loveable sales guy ever" makes me want to vomit.

PS - For the money you spend on a Spectrum King ($1300 for the 400+) you could buy: 15 Cree COBs (take your pick of the 3070/3590) and spend around $800 A variety of drivers and heatsinks/CPU coolers for $500 With that you could blow the SpectrumKing to Kingdom come. Frankly, they're turd.

Spectrum King have re-invented the wheel by re-inventing a non-COB COB style lamp. Spectrum King re-market Alibaba lamps that are very easily discovered (put in Spectrum King to the Alibaba search box) and are in fact hi-bay warehouse lights. Spectrum King is quite frankly full of sh*t.......but...

Multichip LED, Remote Phosphor - Guess who it is.

Just took receipt of a "sample" bag of Chromalit panels supplied by the surprisingly generous (i.e. they were FOC) Intematix!!!! Now all I need to do is make up my Royal Blue panel.....straight after my 3070 build.....straight after I find a new job (god damn surprise unemployment!). Any other...

    Another Cree CXA3070 DIY Thread

My Arctic11s come with the stock thermal paste (a little grey square). Having read @SupraSPL 's exploits in the realms of "to sand or not to sand?" I wonder whether it is worth removing this and replacing with Céramique paste? Experience is always welcome :)

    Heatsinks in Europe

Is cm2/inch a standard metric used in the heatsink world? Serious question as we seem to be mixing metric with imperial. Also, I still can't seem to grasp this c/w metric. Is there a quick primer? I am trying to figure out how to take the dissipated W (i.e. the "inefficiency W of the COB"...

I've really enjoyed the learning process and the sharing of information on this forum. To think that I might actually be able to add value to someone else's journey is probably the most enriching return yet

50-2100AN .....but they are for the cxa3070 holder. If you go on the ideal website it will show you the right numbers. Also Ledil will do it if you look up the reflector you want (basically they license the holder design to Ideal and the Ideal part number is from memory the same as the Ledil...

Shipped from USA. Quite unbelievable really. I bought 8 COB holders first. Total value around $16/$17 then 8 reflector adaptors in a separate order...for a similar value. Total shipping $0!!! Can't get my head around it. Arrow EU don't do the low quantities.

    DIY led grow

It's a lovely unit - very well put together, runs only slightly warm at 1.05A all day and has all sorts of options, like you say. When you consider the people (like me) that will be using CPU coolers with fans to cool their COBs, then this is a nice option for the "money is no object" brigade...
