    First Grow Woes

I just completed my first grow of 4 plants, during which time I got the honor of learning about both spider mites and powdery mildew. Two of the plants were salvageable. The other two were too far gone. So my questions: What is the best way to dispose of an entire plant? What is the best...

    How close to harvest?

The Ortega probably didn't grow quites as well as the other three. The plant is half the height of the other girls, 5' tall vs 2 feet tall. The way I built my lights, the light frames span 2 plants. So, I cannot drop the lights down to accommodate her shorter height. The plants I have in veg...

    How close to harvest?

Here's an update. These pics are at about week 7.5. I tried to get a close up and a shot a little further way. Are they nearing the 2 week to harvest mark? I did by a jeweler's loupe. The trichomes still look clear to me, however they are still really hard to see, even with the loupe. FYI...

    How close to harvest?

Thanks for all the feedback. I'm still trying to figure all this out and your help is very much appreciated. I just ordered a jewelers loupe as well

    How close to harvest?

This is my first ever grow. I need some help determining if these are around the 2 weeks until harvest mark. I am starting to see some browning and curling on the pistils. I don't have a magnifier yet to look at the trichomes. I am curious if it is time to start the flush. Strains are...

    Veg time vs. yeild

Gotcha. I had not finished building my flower lights, so I did an almost 3 month veg. I think by the time they are fully flowered, the plants will be too big for the room that they are in. They already seem too big for the room and I just put them in there. This is my first grow, so I was...

    Veg time vs. yeild

All things being equal, which they never are, but lets assume that they are for the sake of argument. Is yield in direct proportion for veg time? For instance will a plant that veg's for 3 months yield double to that of a plant that veg's for 1.5 months?

    CXB3590's, still the ticket?

Ah yes. I knew flowering ran at a different temperature than veg. I looked back on my threads and see that 4000-5000K lights were recommended for veg and I went with 4000K. 3500K CD's it is for flowering. Good thing I asked.... THANKS!

    CXB3590's, still the ticket?

It has been 4 or 5 months since I built my first lights for veg. Before I order some more for flower, I am curious if the CXB3590's are still the hot item? Given the speed at which technology changes, I figure I had better verify. If I remember correctly, 3000K is the desired temperature for...

    Where to start?

I have read that one and another just like it. I am well aware that over watering is an issue. I also know that over feeding is an issue. These are the simple issues that I am trying to prevent. I have also tried to research as much as I can ahead of time. I have no doubt that the info is...

    Where to start?

I am about to partake in my very first grow ever. There are some aspects that I need help figuring out a good place to start from. I realize that there are probably going to be thousands of variables to take in to account, but I need a baseline to get going and have no clue what that baseline...

    Finished my veg lights

    For veg, i set up a 3' x 8' space in a 6'8" x 8' room. Here is a copy/paste from Supra's thread of the specs of the lights: @ 56.3% (4) CXB3590 3500K CD 36V @ 1.4A (49W ea) $190 (1) HLG-185H-C1400 $65 196 dissipation W -> 85.7W heat -> passive cooled heatsink 10284cm² -> 5.88" X 38" heatsink...

    Finished my veg lights

Rivets hold tight. I checked and they're good for something like 200 pounds each, so weight is not an issue. Hardest thing with the rivets were making sure they hit in between the fins.

    Finished my veg lights

I finally finished up building my veg lights. They turned out extremely well. The only thing I might improve on at some point is to tidy up the wire management.

    Air intake

I am only using 2 fans in total. One in each room for exhaust. Intake air is passive. My theory in my alternate setup is the instead if pulling cold air from two locations, I am only pulling cold air from one. Then, while it is cooler out, I would only exhaust from on fan, the one in the...

    Air intake

No. For example, its 50 out right now. However, the low this morning was 34.

    Air intake

Exhaust is to the outside via fans and carbon filiters. I don't think it would be economical in the least to heat the garage. At that point, I think it would better just to heat the rooms separetly.

    Air intake

Do you think I am gaining anything by adding this setup? Or am I wasting my time?
