I was going to use two pieces of 48" in order to mount three boards between them. at first I was looking at angle aluminum, but now I'm thinking about using 3/4" wide, 48"long 1/8" thick flat aluminum and then using a piece of angled alum at the ends to connect them all.

hey why does everyone use angle alum for their frames? would two 48" pieces of 1/8" aluminum sag or droop in the middle if there are three qb's and a driver mounted to it? post #9 has a diagram

when you say run the boards at max efficiency what do you mean by that? because by definition that would mean running them at 500ma which is like 23watts each which is only 92watts total. if you run them at 1050ma (49 watts per board) you lose ~ 5% efficiency but your total amount of light...

I have a 9x12 area that I have 4 lights over only about 9x10 of it which I would spread out once I implement the cobs ...and then a 4x5 with another light. Other room is 10x13 with 6 lights.

Anyone try doing this? Run 49w on each corner to bring ppfd up? Or maybe if you can angle them on the sides for deeper penetration? I can't afford to switch my entire setup but figure this is good start. Any real results with a setup like this out there?
