They grow perfectly. This is only during veg. During flower they get 12/12. I run them 18/6 in the summer because I am growing in a loft the day time temps get too hot to run the lights during the day.

I haven't PH tested since I gave up Hydro, about 16 years ago, and have had no problems because of it.

You can run the light 24/0 in veg. In the summer months I go 18/6, but in the cooler months I run 24/0.

The timing of the light will cause them to flower, not the light spectrum.

I get what you are saying. They are £10.99 for 6 over here, that would be £22 every 8 weeks or so. That would be nearly £150 a year, aside from electrical costs, that would double my costs per year. Plus, it isn't very environmentally friendly.
