    two problems?

Howdy. I have what appears to be two different problems. The first one is light green patches appearing on leaves which has just happened in the last 48 hours. Not sure if its early stage N deficiency or possibly potassium or magnesium? I've been looking at the deficiency charts but it's hard...

    cleaning hyroton between uses?

Howdy. I've just finished my first run in clay pebbles. I switched to flood and drain after seven years of using coco and I'm pretty impressed with it, the grow went really well. So now I've pulled all the plants out and as much of the root mass as possible and I'm ready to get another lot...

calcium phosphate to treat calcium deficiency?

It doesn't say, so I'll assume 5%. I watched two youtube vids on it. One by the chemist guy Nilered and one by some gardening channel. Nilered used 10% commercial grade acetic acid and the gardener guy used 5% table vinegar. I pretty much just guessed the ratios and used about 20g of crushed egg...

calcium phosphate to treat calcium deficiency?

Thanks. I spent an hour researching this morning and it turns out calcium acetate can be made by reacting crushed egg shells (calcium carbonate) with white vinegar to produce calcium acetate + carbon dioxide and water. I picked some egg shells out of the trash, dried them in the microwave...

calcium phosphate to treat calcium deficiency?

might be able to get calcium magnesium acetate. it's used in my country as road salt. mixture of lime and acetic acid. do you know if that is soluble?

calcium phosphate to treat calcium deficiency?

Hi. I've got a couple plants with what we're pretty sure is calcium def, but also a bit of nitrogen toxicity and they are in week 2 of flower (autos). I ran into this about year ago and foliar sprayed a calcium nitrate solution which fixed the cal def but made the nitrogen abundance worse, which...

anyone on here wanna mentor me on building these QB

That's just what I drive them at to keep them cool, the drivers are adjustable. The drivers are good to 600w. remember a good rule of thumb is a 600w rig using lm301b chips will turn out about as much weed as 2 x 600w HPS units.

anyone on here wanna mentor me on building these QB

here's one room with 3 units. there are another 3 units like these and 3 more which are COBs. lights are 15 x samsung qb22a strips mounted on 25x25 aluminium extrusion wired in parallell driven by a meanwell hlg600h-48a. I only drive them at 12.3 amps which makes 568 watts. they stay cool to the...

anyone on here wanna mentor me on building these QB

I can help you with that. I built my own lighting rigs from scratch using componentry from digikey and mouser. quality gear from samsung and meanwell. not small rigs either, my last grow was 288oz dry. PM me if you want guidance.

    can anyone identify these problems?

yeah sorry, i was in a bit of a rush. it's an auto grow with 3 different strains, so I'm guessing some of them are less sensitive to levels of this and that than others are. it's flood and drain, and into week 5 from seed. first 4 and a half weeks I was just running nutrifield hydro 2 part nutes...

    can anyone identify these problems?

The clawing I'm pretty sure is just nitrogen abundance, but I'm a little lost on the others. Nute burn and something else perhaps? I've flushed the beds with water and loaded up a lighter mix in the tank today. Thanks in advance TGS

first time flood and drain project, major PH problem.

Oh thanks, yeah I was wondering if the hydroton might be doing it. Or more like it crossed my mind when it first started happening and I never investigated it because I figured it's probably pretty inert and not having much effect. Did you notice the effect on PH from the hydroton diminishing...

first time flood and drain project, major PH problem.

That's right. 12 plants per tub in a SOG, 6 tubs per table. Each table is about 1.1M square and sits under a custom built LED comprised of 15x Samsung QB22A strips running about 11 amps in total, which works out to about 550 watts. So roughly equivalent to an HLG550 only a bit more efficient as...

first time flood and drain project, major PH problem.

Yes there is a difference, about 0.1. I just checked this morning. I couldn't say if that's due to temperature though. The best way to do that would be to take a sample of the 20c nutes from the res and let it warm up to 28c, which will be the air temp today and check it again?

first time flood and drain project, major PH problem.

When you say Hydrochloric battery acid do you mean hydrochloric acid or sulphuric acid? I don't remember ever seeing a battery with hydrochloric in it. Thanks for the chart. Lightbulb moment when I looked at it. The EC is probably rising because the water level is falling. facepalm. Nothing to...

first time flood and drain project, major PH problem.

After 3 days without air stones running and no organic veg booster the seedlings are looking a lot better. They pretty much perked up and started growing normally after 24 hours and are now about 90% back on track. I lost about a week's worth of growth, and being autos I won't be getting that...

first time flood and drain project, major PH problem.

Outstanding. That's a lot of information. Thank you for taking the time to make it so detailed. First thing I will do then is cut the aeration down. I'll probably cut it to zero actually as I also have two powerful aquarium pumps agitating the res. There is a huge amount of surface area in the...

first time flood and drain project, major PH problem.

Hi all. I have switched from using coco to flood and drain, and this is my first run. I'm running 18 x 14 gallon tubs with clay pebbles, they are fed from an 80 gal reservoir. When fully pumped out the nutrient level comes up to about an inch below the surface of the pebbles. It pumps up in 8...

    Auto strain question

Have you tried 18/6, 20/4 etc and did you notice any difference in yield? Just wondering as I currently grow autos under a constant 18/6. I'm running six home built LED rigs each about equiv to an HLG550 (built with samsung lm301bs) and thinking about upping the lighting hours to squeeze a bit...
