Venus fly trap to help with gnat problem?

Oh no, sorry to hear about ripped leaves. And the sand option was the very first tip I found when initially researching the issue, but it seems the plant would be hard to water?

    Do I spy a pre-flower?

That song has been stuck in my head for the last couple of hours!

    Do I spy a pre-flower?

Yeah, old bag seed. I was saving them (at a time when two others and myself were getting a reg zip a week)a couple of years ago with the intent to turn it into a topical lotion/ointment for diabetec neuralgia patients, so not only is it not of good quality, the seed could have been somewhere...

    Do I spy a pre-flower?

My phone's camera isn't the best, so this is apparently the best I can do. I think this is the only spot I see anyhing questionable. Everything else just looks like new growth.

    Do I spy a pre-flower?

Well, I can certainly take one. One moment, please.

    Do I spy a pre-flower?

If this is a preflower, I'm assuming it's male.. but I'm not sure if it's a pre flower, or just another shoot starting. Help?

    White Paint VS Aluminium Foil

I have two grow boxes that I put together super cheaply. Two rubbermaid containers, outside painted black, inside coated with three layers of white shower curtain (two dollars at walmart) and duct tape. My boxes aren't the sexiest things around, but they're getting the job done for a first grow...

Venus fly trap to help with gnat problem?

Also, I never saw more than three at a time, so maybe I just was being over cautious.

Venus fly trap to help with gnat problem?

Oh man, Nullis, you're super helpful, thanks! Since posting this I've put up sticky traps, but haven't seen a single gnat, on the paper, plants or dirt-anywhere. I dunno if I just didn't have an infestation, or scared 'em all off with the readiness to wage all out war, but either way I'm happy...

Venus fly trap to help with gnat problem?

I grew up on a farm, and knowthe exactly what a mosquito dunk is, but have seen mixed suggestions here about them, so decided to stay away. And the three cats that live at my house are not allowed in my bedroom (where the grow boxes are)-not only am I allergic one cat ate a plant in the half a...

Venus fly trap to help with gnat problem?

Oh, very helpful. Thanks. I've some yellow electrical tape that I've stuck inside-out to the inside of my boxes, and held off on the cinnamon (got caught up putting cooking herbs in the window with the Venus Fly Trap), thankfully. I was just going to sprinkle some onto the dirt. :/ I've another...

Venus fly trap to help with gnat problem?

Thanks, folk! I'm excited about the fly traps, and will take care of them whether I put 'em in the boxes or not, but I definitely will put some cinnamon on my dirt. Thanks, again!

Venus fly trap to help with gnat problem?

I'm very new to growing, so be easy on me. I continue to have a gnat problem. I've changed my watering habits (now, the ground seems overly dry (2 or 3 days) -but the leaves don't look thirsty- before I water), and used a water/hydrogen peroxide solution in the dirt (have done this 6 or 7 times...

How long do you germinate seeds paper towel method before giving up +rep given

I do keep the PC on 24/7 but it doesn't get very warm. My lap top gets way hot (hot enough to burn my thighs) and I feel that would probably be a bad idea for the seeds, yes?

How long do you germinate seeds paper towel method before giving up +rep given

Oh, man. I never thought to put it on my set top box, that's a great idea! I usually just keep mine on my bathroom sink, it stays warm in there, and I can easily reapply enough water to keep the paper towels moist. Thanks again, for the great idea Rob.

How long do you germinate seeds paper towel method before giving up +rep given

I read a guide that says seeds older than three years are less likely to germinate, but that it is possible. The older the seed, the longer it will take to crack open, up to two weeks, I've read. That being said, all of my seeds are two or more years old, and I've never had any take more than...

how do you fuck up a miss?

I FIM'd for the first time about a week ago, and am having pretty good results, I think. The plants are really starting to bush out, and I think I did it the right way. Maybe you could just try the cut again, with a little more precise miss? Good luck!

Strange Growth at Base of Stem

Yeah, I had a bit of a gnat problem at first, and went through the drying out of the dirt phase, and the cotyledon leaves turned yellow and were getting crispy. I removed them because they were going to come off on their own if I didn't.

Strange Growth at Base of Stem

I've read in multiple guides and forums that you should cut off leaves that are just going to suck up the nutes, leaves that aren't going to produce anything. Was I wrong to do this?
