What's my best option for buying water?

Uh, yeah. Trying to filter water with fecal matter in it is a completely different situation. There you're looking at the rubber seals and surface of the filter collecting biological matter and growing slime. This will pass/grow-around the o-rings. Regular water from a tap will have all the...

What's my best option for buying water?

Cal-Mag reps love to hear this phrase, they've done a great job selling it to cannabis growers. I have no idea what the calcium and mag levels are in 1/4 strength fox farms trio. I run close to 8:16 of GH micro and bloom. I would suggest hitting angelfire and looking for their nutrient...

What's my best option for buying water?

Cal-Mag? Is your nutrient profile low in calcium or magnesium? (or nitrogen, if you're using a calcium nitrate source). Unless your mix is out of balance, there's zero need for cal-mag. I use a mix which is borderline 'sufficient' in magnesium and supplement using real magnesium sulfate, the...

What's my best option for buying water?

Yes, 38 is way past the time the filter should have been changed. Gross. The only place I've seen UV being 'necessary' is for aquariums, generally salt water tanks. The other nasties for humans are filtered out(too big to pass the filter). I found this little tidbit on the subject of 'little...

What's my best option for buying water?

Ummm.... you can't tell the difference?? I certainly can. Cali drought or no drought, my health comes first and I'll drink R/O, thanks. ;)

What's my best option for buying water?

My entire family drinks r/o, as do the pets. I also use it for cooking, tea, coffee and anything food/health related. We've done this since I started growing, 15 years ago. We use a LOT of r/o, now I think about it.

What's my best option for buying water?

I have a 1:2 restrictor, ppm was 4, brand new. When it hits 12, I replace the filter. My tap varies from 250 to almost 600, depending on seasonal conditions.

Ak48xLucca brasi 600w rdwc First time Hydro

Cannabis grows awesomely tasty and potent cannabis, with just npk and micros. You don't need 'supplements' for a good grow. What you need is a balanced nutrient profiile. This is a good article on what you're looking for, roughly. Your goal is to figure out how to mix a balanced nutrient...

    pH control in reservoirs?

I already did... "Lazy Man's Way to Cleaner Hydroponic Cannabis" :)

What's my best option for buying water?

R/O can be set up for 1:3, 1:2 or 1:1, clean:waste. With tap at 500ppm or higher, the advice is to use the 1:2. 1:1 is for really soft water. You can also use the 1:1 anywhere, your filter will need to be replaced quicker. Not a bad thing.

    pH control in reservoirs?

Yeah, plenty fine for veggie gardens. :) Beautiful lawns too. Now you just need to conquer no-dump res management. I run about 3 months in flower before I'll dump a res. When I do dump it, the nutrient solution (for most strains) is very weak, perfect for supplementing lawns, veggies and...

    pH control in reservoirs?

Use a $4 garden hose 'splitter' with separate valves. You can leave your washer hooked up, just connect the r/o machine and turn on the valve for it on the splitter. I would, perfectly fine for veggies. Unless there's something 'bad' in your water supply? Cannabis takes up elements in...

    pH control in reservoirs?

I have relatively little experience with tap-water, it has different elements in it, depending on where you live and they affect pH. The Stealth RO series of filters have inserts you can put in the 'waste' line, changing it to a 1:2 or 1:1 ratio. With your soft water you can run 1:1. I'm sure...

What's my best option for buying water?

Stealth R/O is around $200 on amazon I hung mine above my washing machine and used to run the 'waste' right into the washer for clothes. A $4 garden hose splitter went on the cold water tap for the washer, allowing both washer and r/o to run off the same tap. Definitely worth it. ;)

What's my best option for buying water?

I'm saying my assessment will be much more accurate than others, lab reports will simply confirm it.

What's my best option for buying water?

Show me the studies which show otherwise? As far as I'm aware, they don't currently exist. The 'majority' ends up in the roots. It can and does end up in the flowers and was tested there. Overfeed a cannabis plant for 2 weeks and then feed it plain water for a month, does the overfeeding...

What's my best option for buying water?

I don't grow the best, though I've been privileged to have sampled some as good or better than mine. The experienced changed my thinking about cannabis and quality, 8 years ago. The rest will come down to lab tests. I'll gladly take the pepsi challenge, double-blind test. Yes, I've read the...

What's my best option for buying water?

Indeed, and I have no doubt lab tests will prove quality is affected by an even smaller ppm range. I've written this type of article a few times now, posted it in a few places. This is probably the most recent one and, as far as I'm concerned, the only way to accomplish it is with r/o...

Hydrogen sulfide. Not good. You'll be happy with r/o. ;)

What's my best option for buying water?

Exactly, though I'm in hydro and have never needed to add a cal/mag product, not with the nutrient mix I use. Magnesium sulfate is added according to the needs of the particular strain/phenotype. There is zero need for adding a 'buffer' agent to your nutrient solution, when using a properly...
