Yes. Google "how to make plant stems stronger". Every answer is the same. Wind and light bending of branches encourages them to grow thicker and stronger, same as most plants.

Breeze on the stems helps them get stronger. You can wiggle them when you are watering too, just be careful not to wiggle too hard!
