    I'm a victim of FIM

Easy on the new poster. This section is named "Newbie Central" for a reason. OP, you might want to look up what "FIM" is.

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

Which is faster? A slow boat TO China, or a slow boat FROM China? Tracking info says, "Despatched to overseas". Amazon Prime has spoiled me forever.

    question about air vent

I doubt the copters are going to pickup someone running a 300w light. Probably better to spread/dilute the heat with exhaust and fans than have it concentrated in one spot. Without exhaust you are going to have heat issues in the tent. ETA: Even with running CFLs my small tent will jump to...

Do you have an exhaust fan?

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

Yep. I have scrapped the idea. :) Just thought it would have been nice because of fewer drivers required. Always learning.

Chinese LED Grow – 75 (actual draw) Watts per plant veg/100W per plant flower

If you're going to set it up to be viewable online, be sure to use strong passwords and a non-standard port. You don't want anyone to be able to view your grow. :)

Chinese LED Grow – 75 (actual draw) Watts per plant veg/100W per plant flower

Haha. I thought I was the only one with a camera on my grow. I use a Foscam that I can log into from work. Just for general interest and to check the temps during the day. The camera is on the same timer as the lights though.

    LED light distance from canopy

I have no dog in this fight, but you might want to use a better analogy. McDonalds is now known for mass production, not quality.

Chinese LED Grow – 75 (actual draw) Watts per plant veg/100W per plant flower

It does help, thank you very much. Another question. Have you opened any of them up? The reason I ask is with the "separate panel" design, I was wondering if a switch could be installed to turn one of the "panels" on and off? The thought would be to start seeds using even lower light/power...

Hey GroErr, do you feel the grow/flower switches are a useful feature?

You grew the plant. Not sure I would call that a "failed" grow. Not your fault it was a male.

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

Right, that is why I was thinking parallel wiring, but I thought I read somewhere that these COBs could not be wired in parallel. This is all preliminary research.

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

That's good to know. I knew it was one or the other. I should have known that from previous project research. Anyone else care to verify? I know some resistors may be required also.

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

Powering small COBs in series? Bridgelux Vero 10. Current = 350 mA Typical V = 26.7 Typical Watt = 9.3 If you wanted to drive 4 of them in series from 1 driver, do you multiply those values x4 for the driver requirements? I know it is probably not that simple. Most of the LED in series info...

    COB Spacing for triangle pattern?

I would prefer a "panel" array. :) For me, that would make it easier for mounting, wire management, and height adjustment. Since my thought is to grow using "scrog" I'm hoping my canopy is fairly level.

    COB Spacing for triangle pattern?

More than likely trying to cover an 18"x18" scrog. I would like the distance to be < 24" from the canopy because of tent height (5'). I plan to initially drive each Vero 18 at 40w.

    COB Spacing for triangle pattern?

Maybe I need to get the "panel" thought out of my head. I have a small tent with a 2'x4' footprint and will never be growing more than 3 plants. For coverage of the "panel" I sketched out, I would be trying to cover a 2'x2' area.
