You should only be removing fan leaves IF air flow, heat and or mold become problematic. But don't remove them all!

My RO-DI water comes out at 0ppm. What kind of filter you have? How many stage? Do you have a Deonizer(DI) membrane as well? Most 5+ stages comes out at 0ppm. Maybe your sediment or carbon filters and/or RO membrane filter needs to be changed.

You don't want a bigger intake than exhaust, this creates a positive pressure in the room and even with a proper filter the smell will somehow leaks. 80F is the ideal temperature for the plant and the rootzone.
