    World Of Hempy

I had to find a photo to show I have done a 2L. I had a hard drive failure last yr and lost a bunch so I couldn't find the 7 footers. But I did find this photo from a few summers back. The feature is the Maui Wowie mom I grew out on the deck in a 3.5gal bucket. But if you look on the bench there...

You water (feed) when the container is dry. With 2L it will probably start out at every 3rd day or so once they get going you will have to water everyday. Maybe SkyRocket or ISK could chime in on frequency since they have more experience with the 2L.

100% perlite works great, I like to cover the perlite with a cap of soil, it keep the perlite in place during waterings, keeps the light out and helps with the wicking, but thats just me, and straight perlite is a proven winner. Yes feed every time.

If you're heading in the sog direction and with just 2wks veg do all of them in 2L. To get any benefit out of a 3gal you'll need to veg for a lot longer. To grow out in a solo cup is something you do on dare. There are many hempy 2L sogs shown here. Just keep it simple.

Wow ISK, what a great root core, and the size of that stock just shows how much work was done in that bottle. Your work with these autos is very commendable. My attempts with autos have been less than stellar. Looking forward to your next IDSG

To me a 2L has the perfect shape for use in small hempys, tall and narrow. Your root density is amazing. I wonder if the tap root of the auto hit bottom curled around and then traveled back up??? Most auto growers wouldn't try to grow in a container this short, YOU and the hempy have proved this...

    9lb Hammer, Osmocote, & Hempy

The girls are still on an every other day watering schedule. I really like the hydraulic effect of the hempy bucket at this phase of the grow. In the small 2gal bucket the roots are really dense at this point and it takes 30 secs just to pour a gallon into the bucket and the run-off hasn't even...

Thanks guys, and TWS I really like your current signature saw it awhile back but it was good to see it again. It's so frickin true. I'm really happy to be living in CO, I didn't believe in my lifetime I'd be able to just walk into a store and buy pot and I'm still blown away every time I do it...

Week 5 update, day 35. Plants look really good. The 9lb seems to be a light feeder, with few needs, it's an easy strain to grow, and it is extra frosty. It has a very aromatic scent, hope the final product meets the expectations. Yesterday I added another P-K boost. Instead of Cha-Ching I used...

    Which Male to Use

Thanks for the great discussion. I can see both sides of the early male theory's. The speedy male I had this time started to throw balls within 24hr of the flip. One of it's clones threw balls within a wk of going from 24/7 and 18/6 I'm thinking this may be too fast, then again if I could get...

Hey Nor-Cal are these from seed? I just noticed that both Ken and Subcool have brought back most of the old original strains.

Hey GR, that pvc light hanger rack is the second great McGuiver I've seen this week (ISK has the other) I think I enjoy these moments of ingenuity more than the buds. Edit: Just lit another J let me think about that last statement. :eyesmoke:

I second using any hydroton above the rez, unless its a capping layer on top of a perlite bucket just to hold everything in place. As far as recycling the medium, most people will recycle coco no more than 3 times. Perlite can be reused for as long as you want. To separate the most medium from...

I've run lots of coco hempys. It doesn't really matter what size the construction is the same. Fill with medium to coarse perlite to above the hole. Then coco from there on up. I've done just straight coir, and it works fine, but I liked my results better when cutting the coir with fine perlite...

Increase your intake size, more square inches. Then you'll be able to decrease your fan speed, and have better overall environmental control.

The weather here as been unseasonably warm for over a wk now. I've still have the glass off but have turned on the hood exhaust fan. I'm still getting temps in the low 90's at the canopy. The girls haven't freaked out yet, so I'll just keep on going. After the first first P-K boost I saw a...

    Rockwool hempys

I've never used rockwool in any grow, just trying to glean a little info on its use. I do understand the large root mass need. And have preached not to exceed 5" between root mass and rez at transplant for fast transition. And you've blown past that, so I'm very interested in the medium and...

I'd have to agree with you, there is no easier system to grow in than Hempy. I got a bag of gro dan mini cubes a while back but haven't given them a try yet. I was going to use them just in the rez but now seeing yours I think I'll try a full bucket.

I'm sure that increased wattage would give a lot better growth rate. But when I'm dealing with clones the T8's work perfect to keep them from outgrowing the veg box. I like to have 18 to 20" plants when I go into flower, so I don't outgrow the flower area. I did try and run a 4 bulb T5 fixture...
