    Worm problem, Mites

The watermelon rinds are only marginally working. I rinsed a few hundred mites off them, but there are thousands of the buggers in the bin. I am going to try going through the worst parts of the bin and manually remove the highest concentrations of mites and potentially mite attracting food...

    Worm problem, Mites

What's your point? Do you keep worms? If so, how do you avoid feeding them garbage, shredded paper etc? That's what red wigglers are supposed to eat/ live in

    Worm problem, Mites

After the first disaster, I have been very careful to not overfeed. This was a fresh pound of worms around 2-3 weeks ago now, and since then they have not received more than 1- 1 1/2 pounds of food. They have been congregating in the food supplied, but the fresh stuff never really becomes all...

    Worm problem, Mites

I started a couple new bins. One is fine, the other infested by mites of a couple different kinds. I have searched around and found that melon rinds are good bait and plan to use some as soon as I can get to the store, but this infestation is so bad I am wondering if I can use mozzie dunks or...

    home made carbon filter?

If i am interpreting you correctly, burnt wood won't do it. Carbon air filters need ACTIVATED carbon/charcoal. Do some reading about what activated carbon is. And, you don't want sand in there. If any escapes into the air, airborne silica is incredibly bad for your lungs. If it helps you at...

    Looking for a carbon filter!

    Looking for a carbon filter!

Understand. I considered the same, but decided that independent control would allow better control over the grow for both temperature and air exchange. And these fans are a lot quieter in the inline category.

    Looking for a carbon filter!

For just air exchange in the grow space your airflow is around 15-20x times too high. You want air changes more like one every 5 minutes and no more than a change every 1-2 minutes, Higher rates cause stress to your plants: Ventilation 101:https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=112862rather...

    The Main-Lining Thread

Thanks, i guess I was thinking kind of the other way 'round, top now, so more growth kicks in in the lower offshoots and take them after they stretch out. These plants are growing low with little stretch. What do you do to seal? i just dabbed on some aloe.
