There's only so far your yummy black compost can get you. Bad genetics are bad genetics. That being said, good genetics don't have to come from seed banks. Good plants are good plants and what's good for one person may not be good for everybody.

I had to chop a 6 footer a couple days ago. It was the first outdoor hermi I've encountered. It would depend how many new bagseeds you're sprouting. The more you sprout, the more your chance of finding a shim. Bagseed is totally safe unless you do something silly and grow a whole field of it.

Bagseed can be amazing if it's not a hermie~

It would depend on the situation, normally hermies make hermies. With each successive generation of hermi pollination, there becomes more and more of a chance for them to be shims. Stable fem seeds are made from countless crosses of hermi resistant plants so don't try this yourself.

With seed, you are just about always gonna have some fresh random genetic traits. Stable hybrids might make something pretty similar every time, I'm not sure. Why are people so crazy about autos anyway?

Just use plain water for a while, wait until you start seeing normal healthy growth to start your feeding. Even with organic nutes, there are sometimes you just have to lay off.

This ^ I have a bunch of Sago's in the backyard and I never feed them anything yet they do fine. If you're intent on feeding yours, go with a compost tea as mentioned above. Worm castings/cow manure/molasses is what I cook with.
