Best LED Vegging Setup for 2x4 Tent

I decided to go with 10 citizen 1212s in varying color temperatures (4000k, 5000k, 5700k and 6500k) on an HLG-320. Total build cost will be like $300 including the heatsink I source at goodwill. Excessive? Maybe, but I like to think if I move out of a tent then I'll grab an extra few square...

    samsung hard strips

What versions would you suggest? I'm going to start with 16 strips on two 2ft long bars. Ideally I'd like to run them off a single driver per bar, or just least drivers possible .. I'm looking for the cheapest option as far as drivers go, which is what made the laptop charger thing so...

GrowOS - DIY Arduino CO2/Temp/Hum Automation

Yes you're right, you will have better luck with your version because of the casing, I think.

    Cegging COB Color Temperature?

Agreed, I like big floppy fanleaves especially nice if shit hits the fan and you need time to react. Should I just do a mixed temp light with some 4k, 5700k, 6k?

    Cegging COB Color Temperature?

I see people trying these new 5000k, 6500k and 6700k lights but I also hear people swear up and down with 4000k. What's the verdict? I'm about to pull the trigger on 8 cobs for a 2x4 vegging tent.

    samsung hard strips

@robincnn were people saying you could butcher an old laptop charger and use that instead of a driver for these strips? If so I'm going to be raiding my local Goodwill..

    samsung hard strips

I'd like to build 6 panels of these for side lighting. Anyone have driver recomendations? I think I could do two strips per panel so I'd want to run 2 strips per driver. I'm not sold yet on which rigid strip I want but I'm gonna most likely go with the cheapest solution :bigjoint:

    Electronic PH Readings Way Off

I figured it out. I upgraded to a digital ballast and it's right next to the meter. It has to be electromagnetic interferance. All the symptoms are the same as well: PH and PPM levels are jumping around constantly

    Electronic PH Readings Way Off

PPMs are almost too high, my plants got a little stunted but we're sitting around 800-900ppm now. Scratching my head because my PPM meter was getting thrown off as well. I have a digital ballast maybe 3 feet away, could this be it? but this wasnt happening on my last run...however I did...

    Electronic PH Readings Way Off

For some reason when I started my new grow in a 5 gallon sterillite container I can't get accurate electronic PH readings. I even purchased a brand new probe and the water is reading between 8 to 25 and the meter is jumping all over the place. When I test by hand it's PHing very nicely in that...

    Heatsinks for DIY LED lamps

Im trying to figure out if my heatsink can dissipate enough heat from my cobs.. CitiCalc says I have 72 "heat watts" by running 12 citizens @ 1050ma. So here are the calculations from my bar. Can someone enlighten my how much wattage I need to dissipate? Is it total wattage at the wall or...

    Heatsinks for DIY LED lamps

Haha if you couldn't tell, I went out and bought those heatsinks.. Oh well, I'll definitely use these sinks when better SMD size tech comes out, or something of the like.

    Heatsinks for DIY LED lamps

I may have lucked out...?! I have the opportunity to snag 7x 36" long by 4" wide heatsinks (3/8 thick overall and the baseplate is 5/16 thick) on craigslist for $100... However I don't want to make a huge miscalculation here and blow a ton of dough My plan is to build a 2x4 vegging...
