Wait I just realized that if my lights are cooled in series, the light can travel through the duct from one tent to the other and cause problems in flower. So maybe I should just go filter to light to fan in each tent.

Oh damn somehow I missed the 4 inch part. So what exact duct do you recommend?

But the path of least resistance is those holes. The filter is further away from the fan, plus it has carbon that the air has to go through. So it's easier for the air to go through that hole than go through an extra 2 ft of duct and a bed of carbon.

But if I do that, and then the duct has a ton of little holes in it all those holes will suck in unfiltered smelly air. Take your aluminum duct, block one end, and use your hands to seal the other end to your face. You'll see that the duct is FULL of holes.

But I'm running my lights with their own fan separate from the filters. So I'm drawing cold air in through a duct, into the hood, out of the hood, into the next tent, through that hood, and out. No filter on that line. So any leak will go straight into the open...

So you mean filter AFTER the fan.

How are you putting your carbon filter in the middle?

If I pull air leaks will pull air out of the tent, into the duct, and into the outside.

Guys, I don't know what to do and it's giving me a panic attack. Every duct I've tried for my air cooled lights so far won't work. Aluminum ducting has a ton of tiny holes in it that will leak smell. Insulated ducting is too thick to bend in the ways I need it to. Woodworking dust hose is too...

Just transplanted the girls into the RDWC, and at the same time had a blowout in the black hose. I think it's just how the elbow went through the grommet, there wasn't enough of the barb for the hose to grab on. I modified the grommet and it all fits well now. Can't wait to get the lights...

But even the Hortilux is out of range of what I want to pay for a bulb that I will probably only ever use for 6 weeks. That thing is around $150, where as the iPower is like $30. So if I were to go with a cheap bulb, you think they're all the same no matter what the specs say?

Yeah, I know a 1000w MH isn't the most efficient but I've already got the ballasts for when I run HPS in flower, and I'm not about to spend $250 on more ballasts.
