plants change from using co2 to using oxygen at night ive herd.

Know they dont, unless i put 10-15 L . it just turns to mud. i know its the wrong medium. but what would you sugest? im currently letting they dry out completley till the leaves start to drop. then im just going to water them little bit at a time. what would you suggest?

i have found that blackstrap will increase the chance of root rot if a plant is over watered.
