I don't generally harvest by trich's, but I do look it all over during trimming. I use the same method as you to determine ideal harvest times.

I'll cosign that, I've seen it (and watched for it since then) pretty consistently over the last couple years.

Haha, saw the Faygo can and said "this guy must be from Michigan". Glad to see I was right.

Soil and Hydroponics Together - Any Experience?

It doesn't create an impermeable layer. I meant to add the disclaimer that I don't believe "perched water table" to be the correct term in container applications but the effect is similar. You create a zone where the water stops draining as rapidly because of the different mediums, causing the...

    Organic Hydroponics (Flood and Drain)

But what is their function if not to break down nutrients? Fighting bad organisms? H202 will do that. If you're running hydro, it should be chem based (which is why I don't). I should say, I'm all organic, all the time. I focus on the soil life, that's how I get my results.

The only things from there that I'd consider adding would be a little bit of the Bio Marine, to feed bacteria and control foaming.

Soil and Hydroponics Together - Any Experience?

Yes, I'm saying that a "drainage layer" is bunk. It creates "perched water table" because of the different absorbtion/wicking capacity of the differing mediums, and effectively just reduces your container size by whatever depth layer you put in. It doesn't help drainage at all, it actually...

Soil and Hydroponics Together - Any Experience?

I could literally type for hours on the topic, but I don't have the time. Just go one way or the other; organic or chem. You're making things much more complicated than they need to be. The way organic "nutrients" work is by soil microbes breaking them down into usable forms that plants can take...

The Lost Art of Foliar Feeding

Yeah, I realize that the air we breathe contains a lot of nitrogen. That doesn't mean that cannabis is able to process it from the air, as it can't. There are soil microbes that can sequester nitrogen from the air, but that's another topic. I just didn't understand your acid rain comment.

Soil and Hydroponics Together - Any Experience?

Bad idea, there is zero advantage to trying something like this. The two methods are mutually exclusive as of now. Nobody (read, real smart growers) has been able to work out an "organic hydroponic" system that actually works. You need to understand how each functions, then you'll understand why...

Roots Organics Nutrients (Master Feed Schedule) vs General Organics (Full Lineup)

Mahfukinbirdmanjunior. Good post Birdman, I agree almost completely. Thought you were going to teh cup? I've been using the GO line for a while now. It works well, you do have to feed fairly heavy depending on strain. It's nice because you don't pH, just mix it and go with it. I get good...

It's a "good thing" for him, because he's using a product called CalCarb which leaves a residue. What you're describing sounds like powdery mildew, most definitely not a "good thing".

Actually, I never got around to doing a control. I like the stuff overall though, but it's not the strongest nutrient line available.
