if your roots are not white you might have some root rot. i know i got yelled @ for this earlier. but hydrogen peroxide works. 3% store bought like 1 dollar a bottle add like 1/2 tsp per gallon. see if theres change if not add a little more. maybe like a teaspoon a gallon but i wouldnt add more...

its a good rule of thumb to have 2 tubs. mix your water in your new one bring it next to the other, put switch the lid to that one and then clean out the other one, so that youre alternating tubs. if its not too heavy that is
