Epsom salt is magnesium sulfate, MgSO4. Totally safe to spray on plants if diluted enough. It adds magnesium and sulfur. I add it un my ro water frequently, and it wont build up in soils the way some other salts will. Do not think that anything called a "salt" is NaCl. As i would hope no one is...

I see these splitters on ebay for around $65. They are supposed to be able to run two 600w hps bulbs off of one 1000w magnetic ballast. Does anyone know how these things are wired? it seems i could make my own, but i dont know if i should hook them in parallel or series.

I never ph my ro water. all that ph up and down will totally mess with your microbes. with all that lime in there you want your ro to have its natural acidity. I use way less lime and don't ph my ro water. my soil is usually around 6.5, and remember, molasses has calcium in it too.

Well, I favor the dry ice method as it is fat less time consuming. But there are trade-offs between the two methods. Dry Ice will be faster, and give you a higher yield. But the resultant hash will generally be of lesser quality, especially if you use a larger micron bag and shake the crap out...

Also, coco is known to lock up calcium, so a Cal mag might help

It could be magnesium. If the top leaves are curling up "tacoed" than I would suspect mag. Get some epsome salt and mix one teaspoon per gal of water. I have found mag deficiency is common when using ro water. I put a pinch of epsome in every watering, and my girls love it.
